There are several vent and safety valves that pass through an accident cooler before venting to the buffer tank; what is its main purpose?

High-temperature gas emissions need to be cooled before being sent to the vent tank; different design firms have different practices – some install high-temperature vent pipes while others do not. However, if one does use such a cooler, its energy consumption will be high, as the amount of water used for cooling must be maintained continuously, whether or not an accident occurs.

Pressure reduction, cooling, gas-liquid separation. Additionally, the flare system is generally designed for normal temperature conditions, presumably to reduce the risk of thermal deformation damage. This is just my humble opinion; I welcome any corrections. Thank you.
