Recently, there have been some abnormalities with the bottom reboiler of the gasoline hydrodesulfurization stabilizer. The steam is heated after being cooled and depressurized in the tube side; why is the temperature at the inlet of the shell side 10°C higher than that at the outlet? Please help, experts
1. Check whether the instrument is functioning properly. 2. Eliminate leaks within the tube side. 3. Verify that the liquid level is accurate
The shell side contains gasoline, while steam flows through the tube side; the oil and gas are atomized to facilitate stripping, thereby achieving the stripping effect. But under normal conditions, the shell-side inlet temperature should be low and the shell-side outlet temperature high; what’s going on since it’s the opposite now?
Has the vapor resistance of the reboiler been considered? Fluctuations in liquid level? Pressure fluctuations?
We have also taken air resistance into account, but the temperature is abnormal; everything else is fine! It’s probably not caused by air blockage; adjusting the steam doesn’t work, and after a while, it changes again
Is your reboiler not circulating?
No, there’s no problem with the reboiler either; the pressure and temperature at the top of the tower are normal, and it doesn’t affect production. The instruments have confirmed that the thermocouples are fine – it’s just that the temperature is higher at the inlet than at the outlet
