Why are steam tracing pipelines equipped with traps?

Could someone explain why a steam tracing line requires a trap? Should it be installed at the supply side or the return side?
During its transmission, steam experiences energy loss, which leads to phase changes between gas and liquid in order to maintain equilibrium at a certain state. When selecting the installation location, it should be at the lowest point of each process stage. For reference.
Speaking solely of pipes, steam traps are installed at the end of steam pipes, at the lowest points, at the bottom of risers, and at the end of steam tracing pipes； When the steam pipeline is too long, steam traps should be installed at appropriate intervals along its length~
It should be installed at the exhaust/drain end, generally at the lowest point of the heat tracing pipeline
Heat tracing is also a type of heat exchange process; during this continuous heat exchange, steam loses heat as well, which leads to changes in its state. As a result, water appears in the pipes. Water present in the steam can be harmful to equipment, which is why drain valves need to be installed.
