Detection of internal leakage in hydrogenation heat exchangers

I suspect there is an internal leak in the heat exchanger of the device, and I plan to conduct a furfural test. However, I have limited information available, so I’m not sure what to do. If anyone on the forum has done this before, please share their experience. Thank you.
This isn’t difficult; there are many results just by searching on Baidu. But it’s better to estimate roughly how much leakage there is before you inject.
Can the presence of a leak be determined by changes in the medium in the tube side or shell side?
