We are a fine chemicals company that is considering installing a hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 400 Nm3/h, requiring a hydrogen purity of 99.9%. We are interested in using methanol or liquid ammonia as feedstocks for hydrogen production. We seek advice from experts regarding which option offers lower investment costs and lower operating expenses under current market conditions. Additionally, suppliers of complete production systems who are interested are welcome to get in touch.
400 cubic meters? It’s very small; electrolytic hydrogen production could be explored, using a modular setup
Liquid ammonia poses a relatively high level of risk, so it is not recommended; hydrogen production using methanol seems to be a much better option
