Reasons for the large radial temperature difference in the reactor
A large radial temperature difference generally indicates flow deviation, which may be caused by uneven packing density of the catalyst initially, or it could be a problem with the inlet distributor. Flow deviation leads to the formation of hot spots; the high pressure difference results in an excessive residence time for the material, preventing the reaction heat from being removed, and this can easily cause excessive temperatures. It is recommended to monitor this closely.
