In our hydrogenated diesel upgrading unit, the product from the bottom of the deethanization tower is fed into the debutanization tower. Currently, the pressure at the top of the debutanization tower is low, the temperature at its top is high, the reflux flow rate is also high, and the temperature at the bottom of the debutanization tower is quite high as well. Why can’t the pressure at the top of the tower be increased? The bottom product from the butane removal tower is heat-exchanged with the feed to the ethane removal tower.
The reasons for the low pressure at the top of the butane stripping tower may include the following: 1. Insufficient feed volume or unstable feed quality, which leads to a reduction in the amount of product and thus lowers the pressure at the top of the tower. 2. There may be issues such as blockages or poor openings, which prevent gas from flowing properly and thus lead to a drop in pressure. 3. The temperature at the bottom of the tower is too high, resulting in a decrease in the density of the gas inside the tower and making it difficult to maintain stable pressure at the top of the tower. 4. Excessive reflux leads to a disruption in the gas-liquid phase equilibrium, thereby affecting the top pressure of the tower. To address these possible causes, the following measures can be taken: 1. Check whether the feed is stable, and adjust the feed amount accordingly based on the actual situation. 2. Inspect and clean the tower to ensure there are no issues such as blockages or poor openings. 3. Reducing the bottom temperature of the tower can increase the gas density inside the tower, thereby raising the pressure at the top of the tower. 4. Adjust the reflux flow to ensure gas-liquid phase equilibrium, thereby maintaining stable tower top pressure. .
