For coker wax oil, is hydrocracking or hydrotreating of residue more economical?
All of them can be visited. However, CGO has a greater impact on hydrocracking, including on the catalyst and the properties of the products; generally, the blending ratio is not very high. Of course, hydrotreating of residue oil is also a good option; the high reaction pressure and temperature enable its properties to be improved significantly. But the processed CGO still needs to go to the catalyst. I’ve seen the entire process of the factory. However, the poor quality of CGO is a torment for everyone. Generally, a dedicated paraffin oil hydrogenation unit is used for treatment.
The feedstock for diesel cracking is heavy diesel; processing wax oil can severely affect the performance of the catalysts and reduce their service life. It is better to carry out hydrogenation of wax oil first, and then hydrogenate the diesel.
