For equipment such as adsorption towers and adsorbers that are subject to fatigue conditions, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection of the fillet welds on their inner and outer surfaces. In particular, cracks are often found on the support plates and insulation support plates on the outer surface; we discover such cracks during every maintenance session, and they represent a serious hazard. It would be best to take advantage of the maintenance opportunity to modify the structure, remove the shims from the outer wall, and perform magnetic particle testing on the fillet welds of the original shims as well as on the cylinder covered by those shims.
