There is a line from the outlet of the fractionation reflux pump that returns to the fractionation reflux tank – what is its purpose? Never used! At the same time, there is also a line from the outlet of the stable return pump that leads back to the stable return tank. Moreover, only one of the two pumps, AB, is equipped with this line; it’s a low-pressure pump, so the possibility of it being a minimum flow line can be ruled out. So when is it used then?
Normally, it is either the minimum return line or used as a method for adjusting the reduction in the back route
This small circulation line was used for water flushing and transportation during the initial commissioning of the tower top reflux system.
