Does the diesel refining stripping tower have a significant impact on the sulfur content of refined diesel?
Big. The diesel refining stripping tower is used to refine hydrogenated diesel by distilling out naphtha, aviation fuel, and inorganic sulfur, thereby reducing the inorganic sulfur content in diesel. If the degree of reaction is insufficient, such refinement has no effect on reducing the sulfur content in diesel.
The stripping tower is primarily used to remove hydrogen sulfide; the sulfur content in diesel is controlled by the catalyst in the reactor.
To what extent does the hydrogen sulfide removed by the stripping tower affect the product at the top of the fractionation tower? It has little impact on the diesel at the bottom of the tower
The stripping tower has no effect on organic sulfur in diesel, and its impact on inorganic sulfur is also minimal. Even if the stripping tower’s performance is poor and inorganic sulfur is not completely removed there, most of it ends up in the top reflux tank of the distillation tower, where it is carried away along with the cut water or light naphtha; thus, the impact on diesel is relatively small
I think it’s large; the hydrogen sulfide content in the stripping tower is very high. If there isn’t enough steam, the stripping effect will be poor, which will affect the sulfur content of the product
