In the later stages of operation, a whistling sound was heard from the high-pressure heat exchanger at the top of the diesel hydrogenation unit, and there were also certain fluctuations in the flow rate of circulating hydrogen. It is suspected that salt deposition has occurred inside the tubes of the high-pressure heat exchanger. After switching to deionized water for flushing for 8 hours and then stopping the water supply, the whistling sound persisted. Do any experts have any solutions to this problem?
Salt deposition is severe, and the water injection started too late; now we can only try to keep injecting water to wash out the salt and see if that works. If that doesn’t succeed, repairs will be necessary.
Continuous water injection affects the reaction temperature. Is there a good way to address this issue, such as how to improve the efficiency of water injection?
There is a device we used in the past for installation, called an ultrasonic scale inhibitor; it works by generating regular low-frequency vibrations to reduce the accumulation of scale inside the equipment. But what you need to do now is find the root of the problem; solving it at its source is the key! For example, replace water with pure water to reduce the presence of calcium and magnesium ions in it, thereby lowering the likelihood of salt buildup inside the equipment!
