Due to the addition of new catalysts in the hydrogenation unit and the completion of the heat exchange system modifications, the temperatures at the inlet and outlet of the reactor in this unit showed a downward trend. As a result, the heating furnace was essentially not in use, which prevented the existing flame detectors in that furnace from functioning properly. Additionally, the pressure interlocks at 500 and -500 Pa for the forced draft fans could not operate correctly either. It constitutes a serious violation. After continuous testing and investigation, the burner of the heating furnace was turned off, and a constant-light source was used to illuminate the flame detector so that it reached a green status (the interlock system was activated), thereby ensuring that the flame detection interlock for the heating furnace was in operation. It also does not affect the energy-saving efficiency of the heating furnace. For the interlock related to the blower pressure, change procedures were carried out in consultation with the design institute, and after calculation, the pressure interlock value suitable for the current processing capacity was adjusted. (Note: The activation of the pressure interlock can be achieved by adjusting the furnace primary air damper and flue dampers; temporary operation is also possible.) Conclusion: Changes can bring about positive aspects, as well as negative ones that require handling; it is necessary to view the new problems in a dialectical manner.
