Does the sulfidation process of hydrogenation catalysts generate large amounts of impurities, such as ferrous sulfide, ammonium salts, carbon powder, and other such impurities, which then enter the reactor system?
During the sulfidation process, the catalyst’s activity is not fully activated, and few reactions occur. Additionally, the sulfurization oil used is straight-run oil with relatively few impurities; even if any reactions take place, they are minimal!
Sulfidation merely changes the state of the catalyst, turning it from an oxidized state to a sulfided state; straight-run diesel is used for this process, and due to the control of the bed temperature, no reactions generally occur
Sulfidation has no effect on the equipment, as it was designed to be resistant to HIC. It should be noted that the reaction feed system must take into account the conditions in sulfur chemical processes during its design.
The original poster’s concern is valid! Ammonium salts, on the other hand, will not be present! As for toner, the key factor is the strength and quality of the catalyst; generally, the amount of toner used is not large, and the toner that is replaced is discharged during the process of cutting water at different levels
