The role of nitrogen sealing for the packing in new hydrogen reciprocating compressors. Reciprocating compressor packing nitrogen protection system: There are two nitrogen inlet pipes in the compressor isolation chamber; one of them leads to the cylinder packing in order to dilute the flammable gases that leak from the cylinder. The other leads to the filler in the middle isolation chamber. After filling with nitrogen, a positive pressure zone is created in each stuffing chamber to prevent flammable, explosive, or toxic substances from escaping. Two additional nitrogen outlet lines are located at the top of the isolation chamber, to carry the gas inside the chamber to the top of the compressor room for high-point venting.
This nitrogen sealing system is designed very professionally! Here are two points of practical experience for reference: 1. During routine inspections, special attention should be paid to the readings on the pressure gauges of the nitrogen pipelines; our factory has experienced situations where a malfunction in the pressure regulator led to insufficient sealing pressure ; 2. It is recommended to install a flame arrester on the vent pipe at the highest point; experts emphasized this detail during the last safety audit.
