For online analyzers of flue gas from sulfur plants, Polycon Technology and Shimadzu products have been used, but they have been unstable; in particular, the detection units tend to get clogged, and the measurement values fluctuate greatly. Has anyone used other brands? How are their performances?
Follow me; I also posted a query regarding online analyzers for flue gas in sulfur recovery units not long ago. Based on information obtained from several suppliers and current users, it is not necessarily the case that CEMS systems with good performance also work well in sulfur recovery units. The processing methods for each device are different, resulting in varying components in the emitted gases. Sulfur recovery units are part of the acidic gas emission systems in petrochemical processes; they have a high level of SO2, lower levels of other components, and almost no dust. For high SO2 levels, it is better to use infrared technology for measurement, while for low levels, ultraviolet methods are more suitable. Polyfocus Technology should use ultraviolet principles for measurement; Shimadzu is not sure. I’m not sure what kind of instruments others use for measurement. If anyone knows, please let me know. We use Polysun Technology for sulfur-based acid production; it’s been around for five or six years now, and it works well – CEMS

We produce sulfuric acid. Sulfur recovery and sulfur production of acid are completely different things.
Shouldn’t there be a monitoring device for backflow gas protection here? Since blockages occur frequently, should we start by addressing this aspect?
