If a leak occurs during the startup of a medium-pressure boiler, sulfur will not enter the boiler because the pressure inside the boiler drum and steam vessel is higher than that of the sulfur production system. The pH level of the boiler water is low; check whether there are any issues with the pH level of the deionized water. Additionally, add trisodium phosphate to the residual water in order to adjust the pH level of the boiler water to between 9 and 11.
Sulfur first enters the condensate water system and then reaches the waste heat boiler through the feedwater.
Where is sulfur leaking into the condensate water system?
The overall pressure in the sulfur recovery system is very low, usually lower than the pressure of the heating steam (typically, low-pressure steam at 0.35 Mpa is used for heating). However, the pressure in the section where sulfur leaves the plant is higher than that of the heating steam; if there is a leak in the heating system, sulfur can enter the steam condensate system and circulate within it!
For sulfur to react, certain conditions are required, but high temperature and pressure do not necessarily constitute such conditions! Just like the conditions for combustion, oxygen, fuel, and an oxidizing agent are all essential; without any of them, combustion cannot occur!
