As the title suggests, it’s an acidic water stripping unit; the pressure in the degassing tank before the feed water tank is high. What causes this?
Is the light hydrocarbon discharge line of the degassing tank blocked? It freezes easily in winter. Excessive water inflow can also lead to high pressure
I checked it – nothing has been moved and the pressure has dropped!
If it freezes, the pressure won’t drop in a short time!
Looking at the trend, there’s no significant change in the water inflow!
A failure in the level control of the reflux tanks in both hydrogen-handling and non-hydrogen-handling units can result in a large amount of hydrocarbons being released!
1. The pressure fluctuates significantly in an instant and then shows an upward trend; this is likely due to oil in the incoming water, and this phenomenon is accompanied by large fluctuations in the flow rate of the incoming water. Check for oil in the incoming water supply. 2. Considering that there is condensate in the backline for light hydrocarbons, drain the condensate.
The short-term pressure increase is due to oil in the acidic water from the upstream unit
The pressure in the degassing tank rises and then falls; this is usually due to oil in the acidic water. By taking samples from the pipeline leading to the tank at times of such fluctuations, the issue becomes very apparent!
If the flow rate remains relatively stable in a short period of time while the pressure in the degassing tank rises sharply, it is likely that the acidic water upstream contains oil and hydrocarbons.
