I’ve never worked with a setup where one valve is in use and another is in standby mode. LNG storage tanks are equipped with two safety valves, both of which are normally in operation; however, each safety valve can meet the discharge requirements on its own, with switching occurring only during inspections. Seals are mainly of two types: one is installed on the safety valve itself to indicate that it has been calibrated, and if such a seal is damaged, it is advisable to calibrate it again. Another method is to use manual valves before and after the safety valve; once the safety valve is in operation, a lead seal is installed to prevent operators from adjusting it, thereby ensuring that the safety valve remains in its operational state.
