Recently, the unloading of concentrated sulfuric acid in Lu’an Coal-based Clean Energy Company’s sulfur recovery unit was completed, marking the finish of the acid introduction work for the sulfuric acid intermediate tank in that unit. To ensure the smooth progress of the acid transfer process, Coal-Based Clean Energy Company took early action and made thorough arrangements; it inspected and verified various valves, instruments, blind flanges, etc. prior to the loading and unloading operations. Since concentrated sulfuric acid is a strong oxidizing agent with high corrosive and oxidizing properties, upon the arrival of the vehicles used for transfer, technicians conducted a comprehensive inspection to verify whether the vehicles met the required standards, whether their safety equipment was in good condition, whether the pipe connections were secure, whether the samples taken for analysis were appropriate, and whether the personnel involved wore the necessary protective gear. After the loading and unloading were completed successfully, inspection activities at the site were intensified; the liquid level of the sulfuric acid intermediate tank was recorded once per hour to ensure close monitoring of this tank. The completion of the acid introduction process for the sulfuric acid intermediate tank in the sulfur recovery unit has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent commissioning work, pushing the commissioning of this unit one step further.
