However, the diaphragms of these level gauges often got damaged, and the heating system associated with the root valves was inadequate, which led to frequent problems caused by crystallization and blockages. The back-blow level gauge operates on the principle of a constant critical compression ratio; a stainless steel tube is inserted from the top of the tank to the bottom, and a certain flow rate of nitrogen is blown in using a rotameter.
