Should the backup pump be turned in one direction or the other?

As the title suggests, should the standby pump be turned by rotating the motor’s steering wheel? If the steering wheel is not turned by the motor, will it have an impact on the reverse rotation of the impeller (especially over a long period of time)?
There is no such requirement; the speed of the shaft rotation is not sufficient to affect the tightness of the impeller back cover. The main purpose of rotating the standby pump daily is to turn it 180 degrees each day, in order to prevent the pump shaft from bending and deforming.
Some sources say that when turning the pump, one should turn the steering wheel in the same direction as the pump’s rotation.
To such statements, I have nothing to say.
I don’t think it’s necessary to worry about the direction.
The rotation direction is irrelevant; the motor can rotate in either direction, and reversing the pump’s direction has no effect.
