On February 26, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical completed the catalyst filling process for the newly built 150,000 tons per year sulfur plant, laying a solid foundation for its operation. Catalyst loading is a critical step in the commissioning of sulfur plants, and the quality of this loading process will directly affect the plant’s ability to operate over a long period of time. For the new sulfur plant’s reactors, it is necessary to fill them with conventional aluminum oxide-based catalysts, titanium dioxide-based catalysts, exhaust gas hydrogenation catalysts, and ceramic ball supports. The amount of material that needs to be filled is large, and high standards are required for the quality of filling; coupled with the continuous rainy weather recently, this further increases the difficulty of the filling process. The Operations Department prepared a filling plan in advance, and held multiple meetings with the construction team, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical’s procurement department, and the catalyst manufacturers to discuss the details and requirements for implementing this plan. Taking advantage of the better weather conditions over the weekends, they worked quickly to accelerate the process of filling the catalysts. During the filling process, the relevant technical managers and operators strictly adhere to the specified filling procedures to ensure the quality of the filling ; On the other hand, strengthen on-site safety supervision, implement safety measures for operations such as working in confined spaces and lifting, to ensure the smooth progress of the loading work. *After three days of intensive work, all 174 tons of catalysts and ceramic balls for the three reactors in the newly built 150,000 tons per year sulfur plant were installed, which significantly accelerated the commissioning process of the plant.
