Excessively high pressure in the acidic water degassing tank can cause liquid to be carried along with the gas being removed; whereas too low pressure may prevent the light hydrocarbons in the acidic water from being removed There are still other hazards.
At a pressure of 0.15 MPa, vacuum flashing is used to remove light hydrocarbons
This tank is used to remove hydrocarbons dissolved in acidic water; otherwise, the hydrocarbon content in the acidic gas produced by steam stripping might exceed acceptable levels, affecting sulfur recovery
The pressure here is controlled at 0.015 MPa, so there’s no major issue
