What’s the reason for the chlorine level in the purified water delivered by the unit reaching 1400 ppm? I hope someone can explain this

The acidic water stripper cannot handle chloride ions; the amount of purified water produced is equal to the amount of raw water fed into it. If the chloride ion concentration in the purified water exceeds the limit, it’s necessary to check the incoming raw water.

The water with such high chloride levels in refineries is usually crude oil desalination wastewater, or acidic water from atmospheric and vacuum distillation that has been contaminated by chlorine. It’s rare to see water with such high chloride levels discharged elsewhere. If there are 304 stainless steel pipes, that’s a big problem.
Stop the reuse of water purified by stripping to prevent the accumulation of chloride ions in the system.
