For process pipelines and instrument pressure tapping lines, under what conditions is insulation required, and under what conditions is heating necessary?
With the exception of some gases, process pipelines and instrument pressure tapping lines generally require insulation. Pipes with temperature requirements need to be insulated; pressure tapping pipes for instruments are prone to crystallization, and those that are susceptible to freezing also require insulation.
The purpose of insulation is to prevent excessive energy consumption; there is insulation for keeping things cold as well as for keeping them warm; The purpose of heat tracing is to prevent the material in the pipeline from cooling down and causing blockages in the pipes ; So choose according to your own actual situation
It is determined by the medium’s freezing point and the temperature.
If the freezing point of the material in use is higher than the ambient temperature, it will freeze and therefore heating is required. Insulation, or even heating, is necessary when the desired temperature of the material is higher than the ambient temperature, or when the temperature drops from the source to the point where the material is needed and ends up being lower than the required temperature, or when liquefaction occurs as a result of such temperature drops
Process pipelines: 1) Pipelines transporting media that tend to crystallize at normal temperatures require heating and insulation; 2) Frozen water pipelines need to be insulated against heat loss. 3) Steam and hot water pipelines need insulation to prevent heat loss or burns, while instrument pressure lines do not require insulation.
Thermal insulation settings must take into account safety to prevent burns, as well as energy savings through insulation or cooling; process requirements also include considerations such as the condensation point
The pressure lead lines of the instrument contain materials that are prone to freezing. Those that are prone to condensation also require heating or insulation
