What is the typical ethanol concentration? ----Ethanol is commonly known as alcohol; the strength of edible alcohol ranges from 3% to 72%, with most strong alcoholic beverages having a strength of 52%. Industrial alcohol can be purer. Should nitrogen or water be used for dilution? ----Alcohol can only be diluted with water. There is no such thing as nitrogen.
Industrial ethanol is generally available in 97% and 99% concentrations; it is commonly referred to as industrial alcohol. In Yichun, it can only be diluted with water.
The medical grades are 75% and 95%
There is a 30,000-ton experimental plant in the country for producing ethylene from ethanol, which seems to be operated for a period of time each year. The second industrial plant is Shandong Yuhuang, which used this process to produce ethylene, but it was shut down due to issues such as costs.
