Is the inventory information of your company shared among various departments and workshops? The workshop prepared the material requisition form and went to the warehouse to get the materials, but the warehouse informed them that they were not available ; The Equipment Department and the Procurement Department also do not know what items are missing in stock, and do not know how to place orders for them ; Warehouse clerks are generally not very professional; it’s already good enough if they can recognize all the components, let alone relate inventory levels to production needs. May I ask how communication and coordination are handled in this regard at your respective workplaces?
The production system establishes reserve quotas, and purchases are made to cover any shortages in inventory; therefore, there is no need to check within these quotas, as the information beyond them can be shared through the office system.
Every day, the materials department should submit inventory levels as a report to the relevant departments
Materials that are part of production technical upgrades or those not included within the established quotas are collectively referred to as extra quota items
This is the responsibility of your equipment department; a proper equipment manager is supposed to have the spare parts needed in the workshop ready, and must frequently communicate with the warehouse. For picking materials in the workshop, it is necessary to get confirmation and signatures from the Equipment Department before going to the warehouse to pick them up; otherwise, chaos may arise.
Our company faces the same issue as well: the records don’t match the actual quantity of goods (we’ve become used to it); inventory management is a complex field
