Based on the fact that the flow properties of non-Newtonian fluids in pipes change with the degree of polymerization, soft sensing technology was utilized; by properly designing the system configuration and the locations of measurement points, conventional instruments were used to achieve online, continuous monitoring of the conversion rate and molecular weight. Polymerization rate conversion rate: Indicates the extent of monomer consumption and polymer formation in the reaction system. There is a significant difference in density between monomers and polymers; given a fixed polymer composition, the higher the degree of polymerization, the more polymer is produced, and thus the density of the entire system increases as well. The conversion rate is calculated by making adjustments for the temperature of the material and the ambient temperature, and by taking into account changes in the feed ratio (that is, the ratio of monomer to solvent varies depending on the formula). Polymer viscosity (molecular weight/polymerization degree/melting index/Mannheim viscosity): The overall molecular weight to a certain extent reflects the viscosity of the polymer in the mixed solution. First, the contents of each material in the mixed solution must be determined using the density method; the viscosity of the polymer is then obtained by analyzing the viscosity of the mixture and performing regression (using a combination of data and experiments to determine the degree to which other materials dilute the polymer). (Non-kinematic viscosity; the measured value must correspond to the actual laboratory value.)
