Recently, the polymerization workshop of Xinjiang Tianye Tianyu Xinshi Company completed the upgrade of its single-pump units; the first two low-energy-consuming single pumps have been replaced and put into operation, resulting in significant improvements in cost efficiency. “We replaced the traditional ‘high-age’ single-stage pumps with canned pumps, which not only saves electricity but also reduces potential safety and environmental hazards. ”said Zhang Ji, the equipment operator at that workshop. 　　It is understood that the single-stage pumps previously used in this workshop were traditional centrifugal pumps, which had high motor power, complex structures, and a high frequency of maintenance needs. This not only affected production progress but also posed risks due to leaks. In response to this, the company decided to adopt more advanced shielded pumps. These pumps enable the gaseous medium inside them to be returned to the monomer storage tank through reverse circulation pipelines, which reduces the occurrence of cavitation and thus lowers the workload for employees as well as the frequency of equipment maintenance. The power of the newly replaced shielded pump motor has been reduced from 160 kW to 132 kW, resulting in a significant energy-saving effect.
