On November 25, the Linyi branch of Lu’an Chemical Fengxi Group tested the use of LNG fuel to power its gasification furnace for the first time, marking the start of the company’s journey toward a transition to cleaner fuels. For a long time, Fengxi Linyi has been using synthetic purge gas as fuel for heating the gasifier. This gas is a mixed gas, and it requires special treatment before use, which incurs additional costs. In September 2024, Fengxi Linyi decided to use cleaner and more efficient LNG as a replacement for synthetic vent gas in order to improve the production efficiency of its gasification plants. To ensure the successful application of LNG, Fengxi Linyi provides support in areas such as equipment modification, safety prevention, and process optimization. In terms of equipment modification, Fengxi Linyi installed LNG pipelines, blind flanges, pressure gauges, manual stop valves, ball valves, etc., on the existing vent pipeline, thereby ensuring smooth supply of LNG for the initial operation of the facility. In terms of safety prevention and control, Fengxi Linyi uses online detectors to monitor the composition of combustion exhaust in real time, thereby adjusting the ratio of oxygen to LNG as needed. Before ignition, the workshop purges the pipeline system with instrument air and displaces it with nitrogen; once the analysis shows satisfactory results, LNG is introduced slowly, while pressure and temperature are monitored to ensure that the mixture remains within safe limits. In terms of process optimization, Fengxi Linyi precisely adjusts the ratio of LNG to oxygen to ensure combustion efficiency, equipment safety, and environmental protection.
