According to a report from Sinochem New Network, on December 5, the “3D Immersive Simulation Training Platform” developed by the Shandong Pipeline Project Department of the Natural Gas Production and Sales Plant in Zhongyuan Oilfield passed the evaluation of the client’s team for scientific and technological innovations, marking the entry of this platform into the phase of actual implementation. It is understood that the gas transmission stations under the Jinan-Qingdao Pipeline Line 2, which are undertaken by this factory, feature a high degree of equipment automation and strict safety requirements on site, posing many difficulties for employees’ hands-on training. To effectively improve employees’ practical on-site skills, the Shandong Pipeline Project Department of this factory assigned highly skilled personnel to use SolidWorks and 3Dmax software. Through solid modeling and feature editing, they accurately replicated the structure and dimensions of the components of the online equipment; subsequently, constraints were added in accordance with the actual assembly logic to simulate the entire equipment assembly process, thereby creating a complete virtual model of the equipment. Ultimately, the virtual model was exported in STL format, and physical teaching aids were created using 3D printing technology for hands-on training of employees, achieving good results. “Zhao Haining, one of the developers of the “3D Immersive Simulation Training Platform,” explained that through nearly a thousand simulated training sessions, this platform enables an intuitive comparison between theoretical knowledge and physical models, helping employees quickly understand the structure of valve bodies and the key operating principles, thereby increasing training efficiency by 40%.
