Our company produces methanol and butyl octyl alcohol. The syngas used for methanol production is obtained from a side stream of the washing tower; this stream is equipped with a separation tank. Since complete removal of hydrogen sulfide is only possible in theory, the separated liquid is sent to a sulfur-containing flash tank; If your facility is confident that the desulfurization process can achieve very high cleanliness, it can also be sent to a sulfur-free flash tank
When our plant first started operating, due to poor operational skills, liquid was carried in the purified gas, which caused the synthesis compressor to shut down. A separation tank was added later; once operation stabilized, it basically lost its effectiveness
