A question regarding the alkali scrubber tower in the ethylene process; seeking expert assistance to resolve it

Why is a temperature difference controller needed in the alkali scrubber to control the feed temperature? Is the temperature difference between the outlet of the water scrubber tower and the upper tray of the alkali scrubber tower around 5 degrees?
Isn’t the temperature control normal? 1. Ensure proper removal of acidic gases. 2. Ensure energy recovery across the entire system in order to maintain low energy consumption levels. 3. Prevent scaling caused by the formation of polymers, thereby extending the operational life of the equipment while ensuring high yields of valuable products such as butadiene. Compare the various ethylene processes: 123, 312, 213. Then examine these parameters. Of course, different cracking feedstocks result in different compositions of the cracking gas, and thus the process parameters vary, but patterns can still be identified.
Why not control the temperature of the alkali scrubber directly using a sensitive plate, but instead control it based on the temperature difference between the outlet temperature of the water scrubber and that of the upper tray in the alkali scrubber?
The question is why a temperature difference controller is used instead of directly controlling the sensitive plate, as shown in the figure
