Since the operation of delayed coking units is carried out in stages, when switching towers, it is possible that operators forget to change the signage after making the switch, which could lead to incorrect use of the vent valves and subsequent accidents. My idea is to install light boxes on each platform of the coke towers, using four-way valves to send signals to the relays associated with these light boxes; once the four-way valve is switched into the correct position, the light on the corresponding tower will turn on. This approach requires little cost but should yield good results.
