Hello, experts. I would like to ask what is the service life of the packing towers used in acid production plants (of various types) among you? It’s not the design life
Dear experts, please help me; I am extremely grateful here
It depends on the material. A PE-lined steel unit I used remained functional after 8 years; only the packing frame needed to be replaced once (this was due to the original installer using wood combined with fiberglass to create a fake replacement). With the right material, there will be no problems for over 10 years.
It will work fine for a few years; the main issue is clogging.
Agree with what was said on floor 4; as long as the material is of good quality, it should last for 10 years.
Our sulfuric acid dry scrubbers use magnetic packing, which ensures good control of purification parameters; they can be used for 10 years without any problems
A packed tower for the absorption of concentrated sulfuric acid; the system has been in use since 1996. The packing was cleaned at some point, and the acid separation unit was replaced; otherwise, everything is in good condition.
The poster is asking about gas purification cooling towers, right? It depends on the fluoride content in the flue gas, as well as the fluoride removal efficiency of the first-stage washing equipment.
The poster is asking about purification fiberglass packed towers, which are mainly related to the temperature of the furnace gas
We have been using it for 13 years; we have replaced the packing only once. The packing wears out over time, becomes severely deformed, and causes high resistance
