Hello, experts. I would like to ask what is the service life of the packing towers used in acid production plants (of various types) among you? It’s not the design life

It depends on the material. A PE-lined steel unit I used remained functional after 8 years; only the packing frame needed to be replaced once (this was due to the original installer using wood combined with fiberglass to create a fake replacement). With the right material, there will be no problems for over 10 years.
It will work fine for a few years; the main issue is clogging.

Our sulfuric acid dry scrubbers use magnetic packing, which ensures good control of purification parameters; they can be used for 10 years without any problems
