What are the advantages of placing an isobutane removal column ahead of the wax oil hydrocracking unit and a stabilizer column afterward?
The following are merely personal opinions. The deisobutane tower is easy to understand – it is used to remove certain C4 components. A stabilization tower follows, as after hydrocracking the component ranges may be within acceptable limits, but there are still some light components present. Further distillation is carried out to remove the resulting C3 and C4 components, thereby reducing the saturated vapor pressure. This not only improves the quality of the oil products but also helps to make the gas-liquid separation process more stable.
The corrosive hydrogen sulfide in the stabilizer tower can be reduced, thereby lowering the material requirements.
