Reducing the load is the right approach; reduce it until flooding disappears, and then re-establish the distillation conditions, but at a load lower than that at which flooding occurs.
Reduce the tower’s processing capacity and re-establish balance
Reduce the load, regain balance, increase it to the maximum load, and address it during major repairs
Reduce the bottom temperature of the tower, lower the feed to the tower as well as the feed temperature, and re-establish equilibrium
