I have reviewed some domestic materials on chlorine drying, and in most cases a combination of packed towers and bubble columns is used. I would like to ask why floating valve towers or tray towers are not employed as alternatives to bubble columns Additionally, plum blossom ring packing is used in the fillers of packed towers – is it because the performance of this type of packing is superior to that of other packings? If possible, I would like to ask: what criteria are used to select the filler?
I guess it was foreign technology introduced at that time; no major technological upgrades have been made over the decades, and it has been passed down from generation to generation.
It’s possible, but Japan has already managed to reduce the water content to 1 ppm using the same process; I want to find out how they do it. In China, it is possible to reduce the concentration to 10 ppm through temperature-controlled adsorption dehydration, but according to my colleagues, this method is not yet fully developed and has some shortcomings.
At small production scales, foam towers and sieve plate towers can be used, as was the case in traditional diaphragm caustic production. However, the effectiveness of both is still related to scale.
