I don’t know much about Shell’s processes; a wastewater stripping tower is likely used to vaporize certain components in the wastewater using steam or other heat sources, thereby achieving a preliminary level of treatment
Steam is introduced, and hydrogen sulfide as well as hydrocyanic acid come out from the top of the tower; however, both of these substances are soluble in water. What is the principle behind this?
If I remember correctly, it should be Dalton’s law of partial pressures
