Regarding the quench oil issue in the coke tower

Quench oil is used to control the tower temperature and to remove the amount of coke powder contained in the oil and gas. It has the effect of preventing coking in large oil and gas lines. I’m a bit confused about suppressing the foam layer; could you please help me understand it, senior?
The role of the quench oil is to control the top temperature, prevent coking, and suppress foam formation; an antifoaming agent must be added.
Theoretically, the composition of the foam layer is similar to that of the quenching oil, and the principle of similarity and compatibility can play a certain role in reducing foam formation; but it’s still the defoamer that does the main job, in my opinion
