As the title suggests~ Can exhaust gas from oxidation processes containing oxygen be used? Should it still be pre-treated separately before going to the main pipe?
In principle, if oxygen is separated out, the other waste gases will also be separated; the investment required for such pretreatment is not negligible. Additionally, a spray tower is generally used for absorption – it absorbs the waste gases through oxidation, while other harmless gases can be released normally; this is the function of spray absorption. Even in oxidation processes, oxygen is not oxidized into something harmful. In summary, there is no problem with this. But is there a standard for converting such treated exhaust gases? If it is necessary to convert the oxygen content, it indicates that the regulations aim to prevent too much air from being introduced in order to dilute the gases and meet environmental standards; therefore, such practices should be avoided as much as possible
My main concern is that all other devices are sealed with nitrogen; if oxidized exhaust gases get in, the main pipeline will contain oxygen, resulting in an explosive mixture. Is that not a problem? Is there any standard that specifies this clearly? As for what to do next, that’s less important~
If it is flammable exhaust gas, an independent exhaust treatment unit can be considered, with a water seal tank used before emission. It depends on your actual site conditions and manufacturing process.
