During the maintenance of the desulfurization tower, ferrous sulfide inside the tower is highly prone to spontaneous combustion; currently, it is protected by nitrogen gas. Question: How can ferrous sulfide be passivated?
The companies I know that offer passivation for ferrous sulfide are Jinan Ruidong and Beijing Lewen. First, a professional passivating agent must be used; second, the passivation solution should be circulated for about 8 hours, usually through cyclic rinsing, and in more severe cases, immersion in the solution up to the full level is required.
