The key project in Shandong Province, Lunan Chemical’s 60,000-ton-per-year polyoxymethylene production facility, is seeing intense efforts at the construction site to meet the deadline. Nearly a hundred workers are working together, undeterred by the cold weather, to accelerate the construction progress and create a momentum for development. At present, the construction of Section 3 of this project is nearly complete, while 30% of the construction work for the main unit in Section 1 has been finished. The 60,000-ton-per-year polyoxymethylene production facility represents Lunan Chemical’s third polyoxymethylene production unit, and it offers new advantages in terms of process technology, production costs, product quality, energy efficiency, environmental protection, as well as market expansion, compared to the previous two units. Upon completion of the project, the unit production cost will be reduced by 600 yuan per ton compared to that of existing facilities. It will enable flexible production of polyoxymethylene products of different grades, as well as facilitating domestic substitution in the high-end segments of the polyoxymethylene market. The project is scheduled to be ready for trial operation by the end of 2026. Once fully operational, Lunan Chemical’s polyoxymethylene production capacity will reach 140,000 tons per year, making it the largest polyoxymethylene producer in the country.
