The frozen salt water pump, model IH80-65-160, was working normally up until last night. The motor has a power rating of 7.5 kW, and it burned out last night. A new pump and motor were installed today, but the current level remains high. The 7.5 kW motor shows a current reading of 19; when the valve is closed, the current decreases accordingly. I would appreciate it if experts could help analyze this situation and provide guidance
The pump current is high; the most likely reason is that the pressure at the pump outlet is low, resulting in the failure to achieve the rated head. So overcurrent. Close the pump outlet valve to build up some pressure!
Previously, the largest models were used; now, after operating for a while the pump heats up due to excessive current and overload
You can’t rely solely on current; as mentioned above, you also need to check the flow rate and/or pressure. Possible reasons include an increase in inlet pressure in the process, or a decrease in the backpressure in the outlet pipeline, both of which can cause the motor to become overloaded.

The pump stopping automatically is usually due to vacuum conditions, and heating of the pump body is one of the signs of such vacuum conditions (a low flow rate in the pump can cause it to heat up; the same situation can occur if the outlet valve is opened too narrowly or if there is a blockage at the pump’s inlet). The most likely cause is a blocked or insufficiently clear pump inlet pipe.
It’s probably overloaded; check if the pipeline is blocked, and try reducing the outlet valve
Check whether the pump inlet is blocked, and also check if there has been any change in the density of the medium at the inlet
Has the amount of water used for production increased? Is there a leak in the pipeline, some place where water is leaking, causing an increase in flow?
It is estimated that it is caused by significant changes in the system, reduced system pressure, and an excessive increase in flow rate.
I don’t understand what that means – does an increase in the water volume needed for production cause the pipes to leak, and then the pump automatically increase the flow rate?
The medium concentration is too high, resulting in increased pump load and shutdown due to overcurrent
