What pump should be used for 98% concentrated sulfuric acid, what material should it be made of, what type of mechanical seal is appropriate, and which flushing scheme should be employed?
Either magnetic pump or plastic centrifugal pump will work
The HF’s fluoroplastic pumps will do
No information given on flow rate, pressure, or temperature; it’s hard to make a choice
Under normal circumstances, both fluorine-lined magnetic pumps and fluorine-lined centrifugal pumps will work; the former does not leak. The poster should provide more information regarding the operating conditions
It doesn’t say that the parameters are hard to choose; the image shows those used in my previous company. 98% concentrated sulfuric acid.
There are many pumps available: fluoroplastic centrifugal pumps with mechanical seals that do not require a flushing system, WB2 pumps equipped with external mechanical seals, or fluoroplastic magnetic pumps that do not leak.
