The minimum reflux pipeline from the outlet of the methanol flash tank to the pump is used to enter the crude methanol tank through this pipeline when the distillation tower cannot feed. In the figure, the pump and methanol flash tank feed the same distillation column. The strange thing is that the design institute does not connect the inlet to the tank, but asks about the minimum return line of the pump.: 1. Does the minimum return pipeline from the methanol flash tank outlet to the pump have an impact on the stress of the pump outlet pipeline? 2. When the pump and the methanol flash tank feed the distillation tower at the same time, will there be a pressure hold that prevents the feed from being fed?

Answer 1. It mainly depends on the diameter of the pipe with the minimum return flow. If the flow is stable, the impact should not be big. 2. It mainly depends on the outlet pressure. It may be suppressed. By adjusting the return flow, the pressure can be stabilized.
1. Mainly consider whether the pipeline flow can meet the feed amount. If it cannot, the pressure will be suppressed. 2. Everything else is fine.
