Look at my high-speed pump; can anyone help me figure out what’s going on?
The wear is quite severe; it’s on par with that of our mixing shafts.
The high-speed shaft has excessive play, and both the thrust disc and thrust bearings have worn out. Is there a problem with the lubricating oil? It does not provide cooling or lubrication.
There are no signs of damage on the inducer wheel or impeller, which is why there is no image shown above!
Check the lubrication issue – see if the oil is dirty or if there isn’t enough oil supply, and also check whether the pump is running in reverse.
A panoramic view should be sent; one that shows the entire equipment would be best. This is likely a problem before installation and use; the impurities on the gears give it away. This device appears to be installed vertically; first, remove the impurities inside it, especially in new devices – it is essential to ensure that they are completely cleaned before use. Due to impurity, the oil seal first wore out and caused oil leakage; subsequently, the bearings were damaged due to a lack of oil, the spindle became eccentric and was damaged, and the lack of oil further led to damage to the thrust bearings. . . . . . The key is to detect it in a timely manner. Alas,,, what a pity.
What caused this defect to be worn away? Semi-grooved wear; the wear is still quite deep. Is it at the bearing location or the sleeve location? It wasn’t detected because the high-speed vibration wasn’t significant; the shaft was scrapped
I encountered a similar problem before; the reason was that the auxiliary oil pump was turned off as soon as the oil pressure of the main oil pump did not reach the specified value during pump startup, which resulted in low lubricating oil pressure. Insufficient lubrication led to the burnout of the thrust bearings.
