Why does vacuum pumping not pull out the materials in the reactor, but only pumps the materials to be added into the reactor?
Vacuum pumping relies on pressure difference to pump materials in. The inside of the reactor is under vacuum conditions. If there is no pressure difference, the material in the reactor will flow.
I am not familiar with this device, so I drew the picture below based on my understanding. The reactor is evacuated, and the tank feeding it should have a tube deep below the liquid level. The pressure on the liquid surface and the vacuum form a pressure difference, and the material enters the reactor through the tube under the action of pressure. The reactor only reduces the pressure on the liquid surface, and there are no pipes going deep under the liquid surface.

The picture basically looks like this, the details are just different. There is a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the pumping pipe (or the reactor and the material tank).
This post was last edited by jmdc on 2017-11-25 16:22 I just want to ask, why did the materials in the reactor not fly up and fly into the vacuum pipe of the reactor? As shown in the picture below, it can at least flow up along the inner wall of the reactor.
Vacuum extraction of materials should be because the atmospheric pressure outside is higher than the pressure inside the kettle, and the pressure difference is used to press the materials into the kettle. As you said, it will be somewhat intrusive.
When you drink milk, can you suck up the liquid without inserting the straw?
