As shown in the figure, I’m not sure what the holes in the pump are for Please share your thoughts; extra points for that
Is it the inspection hole of the intermediate tube,?
Used for water discharge; when the pump is running, it draws the medium into the support tube (or when a submersible pump is connected to external flushing water). The hole is in communication with the medium outside. The medium does not rise inside the support tube, but flows out through the gap between the upper bottom plate and the shaft.

I agree with the view from the third floor; we call it a pressure relief hole. As the name implies, it is used to prevent the fluid at the back of the impeller from overflowing along the pump suction pipe and escaping through the bottom plate in order to relieve pressure.
Will the pump force the medium out of the support tube as it rotates?
The part with holes is called a support tube, with a shaft passing through it in the middle. If there are no holes, the medium behind the impeller will enter the space between the support tube and the shaft. Because it is a relatively enclosed space. The liquid level in the medium will rise, and eventually it will flow out through the radial gap between the upper bottom plate and the shaft.
Isn’t it sealed behind the impeller? Can the medium come out from the back?
Does your submersible pump still have a mechanical seal installed at the bottom?
